FDP Expert Bookkeeping and payroll Solutions Limited was established by founding partners Vivienne Fagan & Elaine Power. We have worked hard to build this into a company that we are proud of. We wanted to build a company that is approachable, friendly but also extremely professional. We speak plain English and try to cut out the “jargon”. We want to be your virtual accounts department and take the stress out of the finance function and your back office administration. We aim to support you as much as possible to run your business efficiently and profitably.
We pride ourselves on the relationship that we establish with all our clients as we like to see ourselves as part of your team. We take the time to understand your business as we care what happens within your business and we have an excellent reputation for the quality of our work and the level of attention we give to all our clients whether you are a sole trader or a limited company.
Meet the Team
Vivienne holds a B.Sc . in Management & Business Studies from DIT and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in Ireland (FCCA). Vivienne has many years’ experience in dealing with a range of auditing and accounting matters for a wide and diverse portfolio of clients from larger companies to SME’s and owner managed businesses. Vivienne’s main area of expertise is in providing pro-active support and advice to businesses to allow them better understand and grow their business and optimising their profit.
Elaine comes from a family business background and has many years of experience in office management. Elaine is Xero Certified and enjoys bridging the gap between our monthly bookkeeping services and year end accounts. She is invaluable to new start up clients and provides all aspects of administrative support to setting up bank accounts, dealing with paperwork, helping you manage and schedule jobs for your staff members efficiently or just a telephone call to chat!
As a Xero certified member of our team Jamie provides Bookkeeping and Payroll services to many of our clients. He is the first port of call for your queries and makes sure your bookkeeping is running smoothly and accurately. He is currently undertaking the final IPASS (Irish Payroll Association) examinations.
Karen understands the long hours and hard physical work involved in the building game and how this impacts on the bookkeeping and administration end of the business. She is xero certified and works hard to minimise the hassle for construction industry but will also take the time to review your business processes to make things easier for you. If its more efficient and cost-effective for clients, she will train clients or their staff to maintain their own book-keeping and payroll records.

Why do I need an accountant?
Isn’t it just larger businesses that need an accountant?
Of course not, even the smallest business can benefit from advice on ways to minimise tax and manage their accounts. If you prefer, we can handle all of your bookkeeping, regular management accounts and VAT returns on your behalf.
The added benefit of us being involved is that having prepared the books it makes the final accounts much easier, saving time and keeping costs down.
Is it expensive to use an accountant?
Working with an accountant is an added cost to any business. However, the cost should be offset by the value they add. We work closely with our clients to achieve their goals. By getting to know you and your business well, we can tailor what we do specifically for your needs and your strategy, thereby adding value.
How do you charge?
We aim to provide you with a fixed fee quote that will cover the areas we will work on together. This will be based on the complexity and volume of the tasks involved. Should any additional assignments come up during the year then we will provide a quote in advance, unless the matter is urgent and it is in your best interests to take action on your behalf. We offer you the chance to pay our fees monthly and avoid having a large invoice in one go, which helps your cashflow.
Can I maintain my own accounting records?
If you want to keep your own accounting records, then that is fine. If you need some help then we can give you some training. Ensuring that you understand the best way to prepare your accounting information makes it easier for us to complete your accounts or tax return. If we do this for you then you can concentrate on running your business.
I've been up and running for a couple of years. How can you help me?
Sometimes it helps to have a fresh pair of eyes look at your business. We will listen to you and firstly understand the history of the business and then how you want to develop it. We can carry out a “healthcheck” of the operating systems, management and financial reporting in place; advise on any matters arising and recommend any actions required. All designed to match up with your goals, which we established at the outset.
