FDP Accountants was established by founding partners Vivienne Fagan & Elaine Power. We have worked hard to build this into a company that we are proud of. We wanted to build a company that is approachable, friendly but also extremely professional. We speak plain English and try to cut out the “jargon”. We want to be your virtual accounts department and take the stress out of the finance function and your back office administration. We aim to support you as much as possible to run your business efficiently and profitably.

We pride ourselves on the relationship that we establish with all our clients as we like to see ourselves as part of your team. We take the time to understand your business as we care what happens within your business and we have an excellent reputation for the quality of our work and the level of attention we give to all our clients whether you are a sole trader or a limited company.

Meet Vivienne Fagan, a founding partner of FDP Expert Solutions and a highly qualified member of our leadership team.

Holding a BSc in Business Management and as an FCCA-qualified professional, Vivienne brings both deep expertise and genuine enthusiasm to every client she supports. She enjoys working directly with business owners, taking the time to understand how their operations run and what they need to thrive.

With her sharp financial insight and hands-on approach, Vivienne focuses on helping clients streamline processes, strengthen performance, and ultimately grow more profitable. Known for her supportive nature, strategic mindset, and commitment to delivering real value, she has become a trusted advisor to many of our clients — and an essential part of the service we provide.

Elaine Fagan

Meet Elaine Fagan, a founding partner of FDP Expert Solutions and an integral part of the support that helps our clients run their businesses efficiently.

Elaine brings a wealth of experience in office management and a practical understanding of the needs of growing companies. Xero-Certified and highly organised, she enjoys bridging the gap between monthly bookkeeping services and year-end accounts, helping to make financial processes clearer and easier for clients to manage.

Elaine is invaluable to new start-up businesses, providing everything from setting up bank accounts to managing paperwork and helping schedule and streamline jobs for staff. Known for her supportive nature and dependable presence, she brings calm efficiency and genuine care to all the administrative aspects that keep our clients’ operations moving forward.

Jamie Bowers

Meet Jamie Bowers, our Payroll Manager and the person who keeps everything running behind the scenes.

Known for his precision, reliability, and approachable style, Jamie ensures that payroll is seamless and stress-free for everyone on the team. As a proud associate of the Irish Payroll Association, he stays fully up to date with best practices, industry standards, and evolving payroll legislation. With a passion for problem-solving and a genuine commitment to supporting staff, he brings both expertise and heart to our operations.

Karen Devoy

Meet Karen Devoy, our Accounts Manager and the trusted partner behind the financial success of many of our clients.

Known for her forensic attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, organisation, and supportive approach, Karen brings clarity and confidence to every account she manages. As a Xero-Certified professional, holding a Degree in Business Management with a true passion for bookkeeping and VAT administration, she ensures that financial records are maintained to the highest standard. If it is more cost-effective for clients, she will train clients or their staff to maintain their own book-keeping records. Her dedication, expertise, and client-focused mindset make her an invaluable part of our team.

Why do I need an accountant?

Isn’t it just larger businesses that need an accountant?

Of course not, even the smallest business can benefit from advice on ways to minimise tax and manage their accounts. If you prefer, we can handle all of your bookkeeping, regular management accounts and VAT returns on your behalf.

The added benefit of us being involved is that having prepared the books it makes the final accounts much easier, saving time and keeping costs down.

Is it expensive to use an accountant?

Working with an accountant is an added cost to any business. However, the cost should be offset by the value they add. We work closely with our clients to achieve their goals. By getting to know you and your business well, we can tailor what we do specifically for your needs and your strategy, thereby adding value.

How do you charge?

We aim to provide you with a fixed fee quote that will cover the areas we will work on together. This will be based on the complexity and volume of the tasks involved. Should any additional assignments come up during the year then we will provide a quote in advance, unless the matter is urgent and it is in your best interests to take action on your behalf. We offer you the chance to pay our fees monthly and avoid having a large invoice in one go, which helps your cashflow.

Can I maintain my own accounting records?

If you want to keep your own accounting records, then that is fine. If you need some help then we can give you some training. Ensuring that you understand the best way to prepare your accounting information makes it easier for us to complete your accounts or tax return. If we do this for you then you can concentrate on running your business.

I've been up and running for a couple of years. How can you help me?

Sometimes it helps to have a fresh pair of eyes look at your business. We will listen to you and firstly understand the history of the business and then how you want to develop it. We can carry out a “healthcheck” of the operating systems, management and financial reporting in place; advise on any matters arising and recommend any actions required. All designed to match up with your goals, which we established at the outset.
